“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”
With the wealth of indigenous knowledge accumulated over thousands of years, science has finally recognised what many of us have known all along: that we as humans are naturally attuned to the outdoors. Being surrounded by nature can help us feel more relaxed and open, especially when discussing our challenges. This is why nature is such a powerful and safe place to explore our thoughts and emotions, whether it’s through sitting, talking, or using art as a natural therapeutic tool. I’m dedicated to helping you harness the healing power of nature, and I invite you to explore our resources and join me on this journey.
“Sometimes sitting and talking is uncomfortable, so being outdoors also gives us the option to walk and talk. Being outdoors gives us the opportunity to tune into the breath, feel more grounded and expand our horizons.”
Walking in nature increases endorphins, reduces stress hormones, helps alleviate mild depression and anxiety symptoms.
I utilise a holistic approach to therapy, incorporating traditional talk therapy, nature-based therapy, and art therapy to assist my diverse clientele in overcoming challenges related to anxiety, stress, depression, relationship issues, loss and grief, and life transitions. I firmly believe that nature has a positive impact on our mental well-being, and can be especially beneficial during times of struggle. By integrating the healing power of nature, art, movement, and genuine human connection, my clients are able to achieve profound transformations and find renewed hope and joy in their lives.
The natural beauty of Western Australia is truly remarkable, and I love incorporating it into my therapy sessions whenever possible. I am fortunate to be based in the Rockingham area, which boasts an abundance of forests, parks, and coastal trails. If meeting in Rockingham is not convenient for my clients, I am always happy to arrange an alternative location that best suits their needs.
If you are not able to attend a session outdoors we can meet at your home, at my home or by Zoom.
*According to a survey by mental health charity Mind, 94% of respondents reported that spending time in green spaces for exercise or relaxation had a positive impact on their mental health.
