nature is the best medicine

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”

Albert Einstein

Why outdoors?

After thousands of years of indigenous knowledge, science has come to realise that we are natural beings and as such we often feel more relaxed and open to talk about our challenges outdoors in a natural setting*. Nature is a safe place to sit, talk and to use art as a natural therapeutic tool.

Sometimes sitting and talking is uncomfortable, so being outdoors also gives us the option to walk and talk. Being outdoors gives us the opportunity to tune into the breath, feel more grounded and expand our horizons.

Walking in nature increases endorphins, reduces stress hormones, helps alleviate mild depression and anxiety symptoms.

I use a combination of traditional talk therapy, nature based therapy and art therapy. I help wonderful clients, from all walks of life, who may be struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, relationship issues, loss and grief or life changes. I believe nature is intrinsically positive for the mind, whether people are troubled or not, but especially when they are struggling with problems. It’s amazing how much can be solved through the combination of nature, art, motion, and simple human connection.

Western Australia is really blessed with much natural beauty, so I utilise this in all my sessions whenever possible. I am based in the Rockingham area which is abundant with forest, parks and coastal trails. If Rockingham is not convenient we can meet at another location by arrangement.

If you are not able to attend a session outdoors we can meet at your home, at my home or by Zoom.
